Choosing the correct dates to visit the tulip fields has become quite tricky over the years. Just like many places in the world, the Netherlands has experienced some strange weather patterns over the last few years. They used to be able to easily predict when the flowers would bloom. A visitor who came between March 23 and May 20th would see brightly colored fields of beautiful flowers. This year they had a late frost and many of the flowers were damaged or are not growing as fast as normal. As we strolled through the fields today, we noticed that the yellow flowers are definitely blooming sooner than the others. Purple would be next and we also saw a few red ones.
If you look very closely at this picture, you can see some yellow and red colors where the grass and sky meet. These are rows of tulips!
This is a close-up picture of a tulip field. The tulip colors are planted in different rows, so when you look at them from further away, they create an interesting display of bright colors. In this picture, only the yellow ones are in bloom. The aeriel pictures of the tulip fields are amazing!
