Misc Ramblings

The flight over went rather well. The kids and I flew alone, as Jeff arrived here a week before us. We were "lucky" enough to catch a flight with a private youth soccer team from Washinton DC. They had the same schedule as us, so we were with them from BWI to Iceland, during the layover in Iceland and for the flight to the Netherlands. There were about 30 teen and pre-teen soccer players, along with their siblings and parents. Lets just say that there were a lot of hormones flying through the air and the flight was rather loud!

My kids were wonderful in the airport, on the plane and during the layover. Justice was quite a big helper with the luggage and watching his brothers!

Jeff met us at Schipol airport and we took a train from there to central station, then walked to the apartment.

Jagger got sick during our first night here. I'm not sure what was wrong with him, but he started vomiting up water during the night. He slept most of the next day - he was one pretty worn out kid!

So far we have not gone on any major trips. We like to take it easy the first few days and just get re-aquainted with the city. We have gone on lots of long walks through the city, fed the pigeons, stopped at a tourist center and booked a few tours for future days, and have made regular trips to the grocery store and playgrounds.

We ordered food from Taco Mundo the first night we were here. Jeff took Justice and Journey to our favorite restaurant, The Pancake Bakery, and I stayed here the next day (while Jagger was sick). Yesterday we ordered Indian Food (which Journey LOVED!) and today we ate some awesome Fish & Chips at an Irish pub. We get groceries at the local grocery store and usually eat out for one meal per day. The variety of food here is amazing!
